Enjoy Your Music in a Totally New Way

Rode has been at the forefront of modern mic design since the company debuted the NT1. Now, the company has set its sights on creating a pair of headphones that provide outstanding audio, all-day comfort, and sleek good looks — all at an accessible price. The ergonomically-designed, closed-back ear cups come loaded with custom-matched drivers that flaunt an amazingly accurate frequency response from 5Hz to 35kHz. They showcase excellent imaging and have the clarity you need to pick out every element in a mix. You’ll enjoy a comfortable listening experience from the moment you put them on, thanks to the memory foam padding and CoolTech gel. You can attach the cable to any side you want, which is a major plus. The NTH-100s are a lights-out choice for streamers, podcasters, musicians, and pleasure listening alike. They serve up audio as it’s meant to be heard.

Clean, clear audio from any source

Rode designed the NTH-100 headphones for superior audio clarity. To accomplish that goal, Rode loaded these headphones with custom-matched drivers for linear frequency response. When we got the NTH-100s into our hands, our Product Research team decided to put that engineering to the test. We listened to songs from every genre and can confirm that these headphones have the bass response needed for today’s hip-hop and R&B, the high-end “air” for classical and acoustic pieces, and the midrange clarity to handle the densest modern pop arrangements. Plus, Rode’s exhaustive design process imbued these headphones with spectacular stereo imaging that trumps just about anything else in its price range.

Exceptional comfort

Great sound quality isn’t everything to look for in a pair of headphones. Rode knows this, which is why NTH-100 headphones come with luxurious padding. The earcups and headband are made from Alcantara-covered memory foam with CoolTech gel to keep you comfortable during long listening sessions. Sweetwater music listeners know that glasses and headphones don’t always get along, but the NTH-100’s ear pads have turned that into a thing of the past. The memory foam conforms to people of all shapes, making long listening sessions easy. Best of all, the headband and earcups are all user replaceable, significantly extending the life of your headphones.

Built to handle life’s curveballs

The NTH-100 is ready to make a lifetime of memories with you. One of its most impressive features is the FitLok Locking headband for repeatable comfort. Once you find the most comfortable setup, use FitLok to lock the earcups in place when you’re not using them. The headband is made from springy stainless steel for durability that outstrips the competition. The NTH-100s also feature a detachable cable and unique cable locking mechanism that prevents accidental disconnections. Don’t worry about damage from rough handling; Rode thought ahead when they designed the cable. The cable’s locking connection is softer than the connector in the headphones. That way, if there’s a rough disconnection, the cable will deform — not the headphones. Just pick up a new cable and get listening again!

Reviews

Great All-Around Performer
I edit podcasts and commercial video during the day and listen to copious amounts of music in the evening. These headphones work so very well for both of these tasks. While editing, these have enough top-end to allow me to pin-point hums and hisses in recordings. They do this much better than my previous editing headphones, the Audio Technica ATH-M50x. Not to mention, the NTH-100's have so much more comfort on offer than the Audio Technicas. It's incredible what Røde has been able to accomplish in terms of comfort and long-term wearability. The cooling ear pads make such a massive difference during long editing sessions. The locking headband ensures I don't screw myself over by accidentally adjusting my headphones when taking them off or putting them on. And finally, these headphones rock. They rock hard. For just straight up music listening, they are so much fun. Alt-rock is what these headphones crave. Silversun Pickups, Foals, Japanese Breakfast, Twenty One Pilots, etc all sound effing phenomenal through these headphones. They fall short with some "heavier" hip-hop and EDM tracks, but that's the only sound quality short-coming I can speak of. Classical recordings sound excellent. Country/Americana has lots of air and detail. But dang, alt-rock just shines and begs you to re-listen to tracks and crank them up. These headphones are completely worth the $ MSRP.
RØDE NTH-100 Best Choice
Just received my new RØDE NTH-100 headphones and could not be more pleased.

I was blessed (cursed) with a large head. For those familiar with hat sizes – I need a size 8 minimum. The only organization that ever put a hat on my head that fit was the United States Army!

I've also owned a lot of different headphone sets. Almost all had two problems (for me) in common: they don't extend far enough to comfortably cover my ears and the shape of the ear cups was awkward. RØDE addressed both – and more.

The extensions are more than adequate and the molded ear cups are terrific. But RØDE did not stop there. You can tell immediately upon unboxing that these are a substantial product. They are perhaps the heaviest headphones I've ever worn. But they are completely comfortable to wear all day long. The workmanship and materials are first rate all the way – something I always expect from RØDE.

I enthusiastically recommend the RØDE NTH-100 over the ear headphones for the quality, performance, and price. This is a purchase you will never regret.
Amazing Spatial Audio but Quiet
Great for Spatial Audio and stereo sound seperation! Great for the price and general use for reference! Amazingly clear mid low/mid high but IMO lacks the volume and crispness /clarity I wanted, and was used to, in the highs( 6k+) or even (10-12k+). The low end was nice though Compared to m40/50x, 770-/990pro. The Nth100 gives hints of 990pro low, cause it's almost more unconfined and spatial but flat, but also mid highs of the 40x with the crispness/warmth, and the 770s in the high, which isn't a bad touch just a little soft for my liking. Overall a great Headphone! Very comfortable, Affordable, and Relatively Accurate Reference monitoring headphones worth the price but not for me

Great studio headphones
Wonderful quality and customer service as usual!

So Far, So Good
I read the reviews after I pulled the trigger on these, so I'm hoping I have better luck than many others. Mine arrived yesterday, and I haven't had a whole lot of time to use them, but they sound very good...though a lower empedence would be nice--they aren't terribly loud. On the other hand, the sound seems better balanced than any of my previous attempts to buy headphones that don't just die for no reason (with the exception of my Beyerdynamic DT 240 Pros; two screws fell out and were lost, or I wouldn't be writing this).

Anyway, other than having to worry about a piece of plastic breaking, I expect to enjoy them until they die....they're definitely the most comfortable set I've tried. I like the use of the fabric...it's related to Ultrasuede, and is mostly used for car interiors--supposed to be to take some punishment. Feels very nice to touch. No peeling fake leather, either. I'm sick to death of manufacturers going out of their way to put that crap on everything. One thing that could be an issue for some is that I find it necessary to pull the earcups all the way down to fit, and I don't have a huge head. Still, that could be an advantage--if the plastic bit breaks, as long as the earcups don't fall off, they should still work just fine.
