Additionally, the driver’s custom-designed paper cone is made from top-grade New Zealand pulp with mica fibers for lighter weight and greater rigidity. Moreover, the Japanese-crafted cloth surround boasts an exacting, uniform thickness, and the top plate and T-yoke are constructed of Sumitomo 1008 low-carbon steel, enabling the highest modeled flux density in the gap. Boasting a no-compromise design, the amplifier is almost overkill for such a small, intentionally limited-performance speaker, delivering robust headroom on par with a high-end rackmount studio model. Furthermore, the MixCube Active’s cabinet is built from dense medium-density fiberboard to safeguard against unwanted resonance. Beyond that, it features top-shelf, nickel-plated input posts, dual-banana spaced on an aluminum terminal plate. You also get a 7mm-thick neoprene pad on the bottom of the cabinet, providing you with skid-resistant acoustic isolation.
