With the Moog Moogerfooger MF-103 12-Stage Phaser you can get swirling, shimmering, vibrating effects; fill up a whole stage from one sound source; even create brand new sonic textures. Phasing is one of the best ways to impart motion to a track and to make sounds come alive. Add tasty phasing effects to your sonic palette with the Moog Moogerfooger MF-103.

Going Through "Phases" Was Never So Sweet !

Over the years I've had the chance to play and own a number of phaser pedals which each had their own advantages/disadvantages. On the recommendation of my Sweetwater Pro, Matt Lowe, I purchased a Moog Moogerfooger MF-103 12 stage Phaser and my search for the perfect phaser is over! This is one impressive pedal! Ruggedly built (good-looking wood side panels), well laid out controls, and most important, a host of options for creating different types of 6 stage or 12 stage phase sounds. You can go subtle or spacy, but whichever way you go you are rewarded with an incredibly rich, full, lush sounding phase. It's fun to experiment with the various options available to you, and there are a number of ways you can go. I'm no sound engineer, but the quality of the clean, analog phase sound is so good that if you closed your eyes you'd think you were listening to a rack-mounted studio phaser unit. It's that good! Moog knows how to create sounds, all sorts of sounds, and you can create them with this pedal. The phase sounds are amazing and you have a range of flexibility for both 6 and 12 stage phasing. You can create other sounds with this pedal that range from useful, to comical, to chaotic, but to my ears this is the finest phaser out there that isn't in the 4 figure price range. Sweetwater Matt really knocked one out of the park for me when he suggested I pick up the MF-103 12 stage phaser and I will be forever grateful he did. I LOVE THIS PHASER ! Thanks, Matt ! - and thanks Sweetwater ! Bill S. P.S. READ THE MANUAL - It's informative and will enhance your learning curve.

Moog MF-103

The huge amount of phase controls, settings and CV make this a great addition to my modular synth setup. The sound is amazing when the correct Sweep, Amount and Rate combine with the tamber of the Synth, but difficult to dial in consistently. Clearly the down side to so much control. The only thing stopping me from giving it a 5 is the level and drive work very strangely compared to other MoogerFoogers. To level match the incoming signal requires overdriving the output a little. That doesn't make sense to me. Other than that, when dialed in, it is phenomenal.

Thick as a Brick

I bought the MF-102 12 Stage Phaser because I was looking for a phaser with more depth and fuller than my plug-ins. I was not disappointed. Subtle dreamt movement to thick jet flanges. Next step is integration with the Voyager.

Simply put, this is the best of it's kind. I know of no other stomp box that equals this unit.

Great pedal

Very versatile phaser that's easy to use and understand. It takes up a lot of space on the pedal board, but I think it's worth it. I'm still getting used to it, but I returned a different phaser pedal before getting the Moog and I'm much more satisfied with this one.

Sweetwater Advice

Daniel Fisher

Phase shifting is a lot like cinnamon: It can certainly be overused and it was cliched-to-death in the 70's. But, to paraphrase Seinfeld, when someone says, 'Oh, this is so good. What's in it?,' the answer invariably comes back, 'cinnamon'. The secret to using phase shifting without sounding tired is avoiding the standard one-setting-fits-all speed, depth, and feedback amounts. With the Moogerfooger MF-103 12-Stage Phaser you have an exceptionally wide range of LFO speeds and depths. And you can manually control all of these parameters with external pedals or analog control signals. The results can range from a subtle sense of motion to liquid trips. The MF-103 is truly the 'modular synthesizer' of phase shifters.

Nate Edwards

Bob Moog was one of the most meticulous and passionate analog designers ever to grace the music industry. The design of the MF-103 phaser demonstrates that passion and attention to detail by means of incredible, lush, warm analog tone. This is perfect for a guitar rig, and it's equally at home in your studio - no plug-in or digital multi-effects box will ever sound like this.
