The Foundation Of Rock... Times Four!

The JVM Series 100-watt, valve-driven power stage is built on the classic design responsible for the legendary Marshall roar found in the JCM800 2203 and Plexi Super Lead amplifiers - a timeless foundation for countless classic rock and metal guitar tones for over four decades. Featuring a quartet of EL34 valves, this peerless design has been expertly crafted to compliment the extraordinary wealth of tones found in the JVM.

Channelling World Class Tone - The Four JVM Channels Are:
  • Clean: With the gain stages lurking after the tone controls, all three modes offer classic clean and bluesy tones - simple, pure, and perfect.

  • Crunch: From a Plexi Super Lead (green mode) to a 2203 (orange) to a hot-rodded JCM800 monster (red), this is the classic rocker's dream.
  • OD 1: Imagine every high-gain, all-valve Marshall ever made and then add even more gain! Incredible tone and extreme gain that runs the gamut from cutting to fluid, OD 1 is perfect for shredding, hard rock, and metal.
  • OD 2: Add even more gain to OD 1 and change the tone network topology in the all-important mids and you have a fire-breathing, modern high-gain monster that takes no prisoners. Totally addictive!

Speakers corner
The JVM410C 2 x 12" is fitted with two different speaker types - Marshall G-12 Vintage and a Celestion Heritage - allowing the combo to deliver spacious, rich tones backed up with a solid low-end thump.

Logical layout
The JVM front panel is simple and uncompromising; dedicated gain, EQ, volume, and reverb are present for each of the four channels. Add to this a master section with dual master volumes, resonance, and presence and you have a clear, concise layout that makes the JVM410C easy and intuitive to use.

Seamless switching, perfect memory, and MIDI
The onboard logic not only ensures switching is swift and silent, but also remembers the position of each front panel switch in all 12 modes - reverb (on/off), FX loop (on/off) and master volume (1 or 2). So, when you return to any mode, all switch settings will be exactly as you left them - even after you've powered the amp down. This groundbreaking system combined with revolutionary new footswitch technology, plus MIDI switching capabilities, add even more to the JVM410C's already incredible flexibility.

Ultimate control and connectivity
Every JVM is supplied with a 6-way, fully programmable footswitch. This revolutionary, U.K. patent-pending technology allows single front panel switches (switch store) or entire setups (preset store - channel, mode, reverb, FX loop and master volume switch settings) to be simply assigned to any footswitch. The footswitch's group of multi-coloured LEDs reflect every front panel switch status ensuring that, in the heat of a performance, you know exactly where you are with no need to see the amp. To add to it's already impressive guitarist-friendly qualities, the JVM footswitch connects to the amplifier via a standard guitar lead, making it easy to replace with any length you may need. Additionally, the JVM410C's MIDI in and through connection means it can easily be integrated in a MIDI switching setup, allowing you to store and recall 128 complete amplifier setups, for example, enabling your pedal effects board to easily control the amp. With its built-in memory and switching options, the JVM410C's possibilities are endless!

Studio-quality reverb
The onboard, studio-quality digital reverb is routed in parallel and mixed with the direct signal by means of a valve. When the reverb is engaged, no degradation of the direct signal occurs and when switched off it is removed from the circuit. The reverb circuit has also been designed to avoid abrupt cut-offs, allowing the reverb tail to decay naturally when switching or changing from channel to channel.

Loud and louder
Dual master volumes increase the flexibility and balance of your sounds, and when assigned directly to the footswitch, they can be used as a solo boost. The resonance and presence act as a global equalizer, controlling how the power section reacts with the speakers, adding another layer of tone control, and letting you adjust the power amplifier dynamics to your own taste.

FX control
The JVM410C boasts two FX loops that live on its rear panel. It also has a footswitchable parallel/series loop with level and mix controls, plus a series loop. When the JVM410C is combined with a MIDI effects processor and switched via MIDI, the sky's the limit!

Silence is golden
When on standby, the JVM410C's emulated XLR output is fully operational, allowing you to record in total silence - a godsend for those late night recording sessions!

Marshall heritage
Every JVM is made at the Marshall factory in the tonal heart of England. Time-tested, traditional methods of craftsmanship and construction are combined with the latest advances in modern manufacturing technology, ensuring world-class build quality and roadworthiness. Internally, the JVM circuitry and layout has been kept to a minimum, ensuring the integrity of the guitar tone and an incredibly low noise floor. All this, coupled with meticulous valve selection and high tolerance, quality components adds to the all-important reliability factor that is synonymous with the Marshall legend.

Does it all

Normally Marshall isn't known for strong clean tones, but this amp has a clean channel that can get as glassy as the best of them. Add 3 more channels with increasing levels of gain, amazing digital reverb, programmable fx loop for each channel , and the 100w Marshall flame thrower power plant and you have the ultimate amplifier. I bought the JVM 2x12 extension cab for mine to give it the over the top oomph.
The ONLY con is that you'll need 2 people to carry it anywhere. It's that heavy.
I've been playing 40 years and have had everything at least twice including an original JCM 800 2210 and this amp is in a class by itself. This amp pisses all over anything in its class. Bravo Marshall.

Sonic and programable brilliance

I needed a change. I perform new country, where clean and grit both have a place. I've been running Twins in the live rig for years. I used pedals from time to time to get a really driven sound and that worked since 98. There was something slightly missing, or so I thought. Turned out not to be so slightly when I added the JVM410C into the rig. I use a gcx and gcu voodoo system to control everything. Including this combo. Once I dialed it in, I could a/b the different amps in the rig and I was floored.

First, wth midi control it fit seamlessly into the gcu setup. I can control it perfectly from the front of stage and behind the stage. The supplied foot switch is no slouch, but I really like one pedal to control everything. Front end effects, inserted time based effects and the like. Seamless integration.

Next, I thought I would get the most use out of it in the crunch and od preamps. I was dead wrong. The clean side of this amp is incredible. I ran a PRS p24 trem Piezo side into it, and it translated the piezo side pretty good. So, I tried just a slight edge clean/yellow and used each switch position. I was very surprised at how silky it sounded and full of presence.

The driven channels sound really good too. I don't really have the need for Red on od1 or 2. That said, fully cranked green and yellow selections run with little hi gain hum. Red is a bit hissy on the od channels, true. But that can be conquered by creative program usage with the GCU.

It has really great sonic control using the guitars volume knob. Some amps loose part of the sound pallet when the volume knob is used. This amp plays well with a guitars volume knob backed off for light passages. Some amps loose punch and a lot of sustain. This amp looses very little.

I would choose it all over again if I had to. Don't let the small form factor fool you. This combo is a giant. This has easily been a no brainier, great selection. It's qualiy and sound make it the easiest amp I could ever recommend.

perfect

found the love of my life. It's the green crunch mode. Not to say there is anything wrong with any of the other channels. Each mode is unique and fun to play around with. Rock, Blues, Jazz, Metal it does it all. The dual volume is grate for a boost while rocking out or as a switch to be loud during the day and softer when practicing at night. It's just perfect for anything at any time.

Awesome Amp

I don't usually write reviews, but I felt this one needed to be done.
I bought this amp about 8 months ago, and I just love the sounds that I get out of it.
I know that Marshall is known for their crunch and overdriven sounds, and this amp has them all. Even more than I will use for my styles of playing, but sometimes they are still fun to switch to those channels when I get a wild hair.
I personally use the clean channels the most, sometimes with one of the drive buttons pushed. Sometimes just on the cleanest settings. They sound full and open. Strat, Tele, Les Paul, ES-135 all sound fantastic. My Tele's neck pickup doesn't even squeal when cranked, like it does with my Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb.
I always plug straight from the guitar into the amp, so there is no pedal coloration to the sound. But with the sounds you get from this, you don't need any drive pedals anyway. Just push one of the drive buttons, it will give you a sound that you would be more than happy with.
The amp is 100 watts, which of course sounds great at "rattle-the-windows, neighbors-call-the-cops" volume, but it stills sounds exceptionally good at lower volumes as well.
This amp really is 4 great amps in one. Not digital modeling imitations, but the real thing.
I highly recommend it.
