A Powerful All-in-one PA You Can Take Anywhere

The JBL IRX One is the perfect all-in-one PA solution for an impressive range of applications. The powered column PA speaker comes loaded with a "C"-shaped array of six 2-inch tweeters and an 8-inch woofer with a bass reflex design, yielding rich, clear audio reproduction and rafter-shaking low end down to 40Hz. The IRX One brandishes a built-in 3-channel mixer with a sizable complement of features, including feedback suppression, ducking, and system tuning presets. You also get convenient Bluetooth 5.0 audio streaming. Beyond that, the IRX One sets up and tears down effortlessly, with an ergonomically optimized carry handle for easy transport. From educators and presenters to hospitality or worship leaders to buskers and singer/songwriters, the JBL IRX One is a top-shelf powered PA speaker with an intelligent, plug-and-play design.

Superior clarity and rich sound

The IRX One is primed for performance. For starters, its "C"-shaped array of six 2-inch tweeters yields top-shelf sound with superior clarity. Its 8-inch woofer boasts a bass reflex design, exhibiting natural, smooth, low-frequency reproduction. We're duly impressed by the IRX One here at Sweetwater; it packs an impressive 40Hz–20kHz frequency response into a lightweight, easy-to-use portable PA.

Feature-packed 3-channel mixer

Right out of the box, the JBL IRX One gives you everything you need for presenting or performing. Its built-in mixer accommodates up to three sound sources, with 1/4-inch and XLR inputs and 48-volt phantom power for your condenser mics. Fixed Bass and Treble controls, plus system tuning presets, make tailoring your sound to the room a cinch. Automatic Feedback Suppression (AFS) makes short work of unwanted squeals, while Soundcraft Easy Ducking automatically turns down music when it detects speech. Bluetooth 5.0 audio streaming rounds out the IRX One's outstanding features.

Intelligent, travel-ready design

The IRX One was designed for fast, easy travel. Its column spaces and array cabinet fit conveniently into the back of its base unit. This powered speaker sets up and tears down in less than a minute, and many folks are able to carry the IRX One with one hand using its ergonomically optimized handle. To top it off, the IRX One's cabinet is truly road tough, despite being eminently lightweight.

Rated 4/5

Very nice ANALOG successor to JBL EON ONE

My perspective from owning Bose 802s, Bose L1 Mod II with 2 B1, JBL EON ONE (wanted to buy another for spare, can't find one they'll ship here to Hawai'i), 2 Bose S1 Pros with nice Behringer sub(s), I tried out a JBL PRX One (returned it due to horrible digital controls, excessive weight and bulk and lousy app) and JBL EON One Compact (sold it - same reason) among others I've used over the last 30+ years...

And after using the IRX One at my main regular gig, an outdoor Farmers Market here on Hawai'i Island yesterday...

The Good: I have to say that the new HF speaker array is a significant improvement over the EON ONE array and the S1s. The vocals and acoustic guitar are much cleaner and "sweeter" with the IRX One. The feedback eliminator seemed to work well - no squeaks or squawks with IRX only 6 feet behind us. Nice. The Bluetooth was instantly and easily accessed by my phone for break time music. Nice, fast setup just like the EON ONE in a smaller, lighter package that is easier to get in and out of my Mazda Miata. I'm preparing to use it in a couple of weeks for my Duo's periodic indoor gig and along with the JBL EON ONE and a Behringer Sub for our periodic "bar gig" next week in place of the Bose S1 I used last time.

The Cons: Too weak. I had it cranked as high as possible at the gig yesterday to get the same volume level we get with 2 Bose S1 Pros. Also the 8" LF driver couldn't handle the low end nearly as well as the EON ONE's 10". So we experienced a great deal of distortion on the acoustic guitar and a Ubass until I seriously cut the low end on the instruments. On the guitar, that resulted in way too much high end - stopped sounding like a guitar - more like a banjo (he-he).

On balance - the IRX One is a great solution for those desiring the best possible sound for acoustic instrument/vocal groups in smaller, mostly indoor situations (up to 100 seats or so if the audience is quiet). Its simple, reliable ANALOG controls enable simple, transparent and reliable operation at the lower volume levels that it's capable of providing.

Note on PRX ONE - my partner in one of my groups also bought one. We used it last weekend at our outdoor Farmers Market gig and it sounded GREAT. I guess he figured out the opaque App and/or controls. Maybe my early adoption meant that I received a defective unit, who knows? They're still too big for my Miata to carry around though :-)
