A Solid Guitar at a Rock-bottom Price

The GRX70QAL is an affordable guitar — but you wouldn’t know it from looking. Its eye-popping quilted maple top gives it an expensive look that belies its price tag. But the GRX70QAL isn’t about looks — it delivers killer sound to match. Its poplar body supplies a resonant, balanced-sounding base for your tone. Beyond that, a versatile trio of Infinity pickups delivers a range of fierce, high-output tones. As for playability, you’ll love the smooth, fast action of this guitar’s neck. Engage in serious dive-bombing and other whammy acrobatics with the GRX70QAL's standard tremolo. Many guitarists here at Sweetwater have cut their teeth on the Ibanez GRX70 and have found it to be a great beginner electric.

Infinity pickups give you massive tonal range

The Ibanez GRX70QAL yields a range of impressive tones, thanks to its Infinity pickups. It all starts with a duo of Infinity R humbuckers. The neck position humbucker is voiced for warmer, richer tone, while the bridge humbucker is a brilliant lead pickup: vibrant yet snarling with an enhanced midrange output when you push it. Beyond that, you get an Infinity RS single-coil pickup in the middle position. If you're after maximum tonal tenacity, the Ibanez GRX70QAL will give your amplifier what you need.

Smooth-playing, fast-action neck enhances your speed

A guitar is only as playable as its neck — good thing the Ibanez GRX70QAL has a smooth and fast-playing maple neck. This comfortable neck is capped by a jatoba fingerboard with a super-flat 15.7" radius and 22 medium frets, giving you the agility to execute fast single-note runs with ease.

Dive-bomb with this guitar's tremolo

From huge dive-bombs to subtle vibrato to stutter-like warbling, the Ibanez GRX70QAL's tremolo is ready for anything you throw at it. When not in use, the tremolo is solid and in tune; when in use it does your bidding down to the microtone. Whether you need the trem for cool '50s-era dips or massive metal dives, the Ibanez GRX70QAL is ready.

Ibanez GRX70QAL Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:

  • Poplar body exhibits impressive balance and resonance
  • Quilted maple art grain top provides an eye-catching appearance
  • Infinity pickups deliver a range of fierce high-output tones
  • Smooth-playing neck lends itself to fast action
  • Standard tremolo for dive-bombing and other whammy acrobatics

Great purchase

I was a little skeptical about buying this guitar, but I am glad I did. This guitar is perfectly fine for a beginner, or maybe even for a more experienced guitarist. I can actually imagine playing a gig or recording with it. It has a great neck and fretboard, and I love the satin finish on the neck. The tuners and electronics seem fine. The tremolo works quite well, and it seems to hold the guitar in tune well enough. The pickups sound great. I really like the single coil and the bridge humbucker...the neck humbucker not so much. I had to adjust the truss rod and the intonation, as they were both off quite a bit but that is easy enough to do. The finish is pretty much flawless. The feel of the guitar, the way that it plays is great, which is to me the most important thing. I don't expect to outgrow this instrument any time soon. Everything about this instrument is quite impressive. I definitely recommend it.

Ibanez guitar

Good sound clean and with distortion. Neck is nice. Easy sliding awesome paint job. So if you're looking for a decent guitar, this is well worth the price.

First electric guitar

David picked this guitar for me and he did a great job and service. Sounds really great and stays in tune. You can't beat it for the price and sounds like an expensive guitar. Thank you Dave Wharton!

wish i had one of these sooner! Its Seriously helped me learn more than i ever have on any guitar!

my girlfriend bought me one as a birthday gift from a different company and in looking up info on this model i found myself here. and wow i havent touched my other guitar since, i am so blown away at the quality of tone and how well it keeps tune, think i love it more than my jackson kelly i had, theres no limit to what you can put out with this guitar. ive had top brand and off brand guitars and yet never an ibanez. im going to build a collection and do my best to keep them close to perfect as possible because of this guitar, im just so taken with it, its my version of a holy relic. I absolutely recommend this!

Ibanez Gio GRX70QAL

I received this fine Ibanez guitar about 3 months ago and I absolutely love it..This is only the second left handed electric model that I have ever owned, first buying a Lotus stratocaster guitar back in 1987 for 400.00..I played that for a while then gave it up for quite a few years before trying to play right handed, I was told it was easier and cheaper..I've owned numerous right handed models electric and acoustic but never got the hang of it so now I'm back playing left handed and this Ibanez is the first that I've ever owned..I love the HSH configuration and the transparent blue burst color is phenomenal..I'm so happy that this color was in a left handed model instead of the old red, white or black choices..I also love that the price is only 249.99 you can't go wrong and it sounds and plays magnificent.. Thank You Sweetwater and Will Henderson for helping me with my decision..The free candy also made it a sweet deal..LOL.
