Line 6 Firehawk FX

Very nice Multi-effects Floor Processor. Tons of great sounds. Love the Bluetooth allows you to tweak all the settings and also play along with backing tracks.

Everything in one place

This is the only unit you will ever need ! The amp modeling is fantastic and the effects are top notch. You would spend at least 2 or 3 times as much for stomp boxes and it would not interface with Bluetooth for customization. Once again Jon Gillispie came through for me as he always does great advice and fast shipping.

Two POD generations of tone in one processor

I am a fan of Line 6 products, and when I sell one, I end up buying another one to replace it. Mostly because I can't find anything else that good in the same price range. I LOVED the Amplifi TT but I reasoned that HD models would be even better, sold it and got an HD500X. But being that I record at my computer and don't gig right now, that thing took up most of my desk! And I had been spoiled by the Amplifi app, so the Mac version of the HD Edit software, which was developed earlier, felt clunky and not as quick to dial in tones. The sound was awesome, but for my use, it was not as easy, and just felt more complicated to use. I really wish Line 6 made a Firehawk TT, or the Amplifi TT hardware with the Firehawk models and app. That would be perfect! But I can put the Firehawk FX on the floor and use my iPad for tweaking. It's probably my imagination, but it seems like the HD models in the Firehawk FX sound better than the HD500X, but since they're the same, that's not logical. In any case, plugging my headphones into the Firehawk, I am blown away! I have a Gretch with Blacktop Filtertrons, a PRS SE Soapbar (P90 pickups), and a G&L ASAT Classic S Alnico (tele-body with 3 single coils). With the Firehawk, I am able to quickly dial in tones that sound good with each of them. The Firehawk is capable of much more than I demand of it. I like to keep things simple with a nice clean or crunch amp and reverb, maybe a compressor and delay. Thats all I need to get huge, powerful, spacious tone! To my ears, the Line 6 HD models are so much more rich, organic, and responsive than anything else I've tried for $500 or less. To get better, I'd probably be looking at the Axe Fx II or a Kemper profiling amp, which are 3 or 4 times the price. Do I care that the Line 6 models may not sound exactly like a real amp or stompbox? Well, they might not, but they sound amazing, and I'm out to make music, not make my pedal board and speaker sound exactly like a real tube amp. Juicy, dynamic, harmonic clean tones are what I'm after, and that's what I'm able to get from the Firehawk. Line 6's clean amp models may not be spot on, but they are far better than anything else I've tried (I won't mention names). I created a preset based on the Class A-30 amp model this last week, and sat back down a couple evenings later to play, and the tone took me by surprise. Wow! So I'm done chasing tone (except inside the Firehawk FX) for awhile. Other than the sound quality, and the great app, other features I like: 1. I can send audio to the Firehawk FX from my computer over USB, and jam along. The dual volume control is very useful for this (overall vs guitar volumes), and makes it easy to blend my guitar with the song. 2. There is a stereo effects loop, L & R out and back in. This means I can use my Strymon Flint (best stereo reverbs and tremolo effects I've ever used) with the Firehawk's amp models. 3. One of these days when I get another Variax (just a matter of time), there's a special hookup for that. 4. This thing is built like a tank! I don't know if it's made for long term gigging/traveling abuse like the HD500X, but it's all metal and feels heavy duty. 5. Once you have a patch set up with different effects you want to turn on and off during a song, the colored ring lights make it really easy to be confident what you're switching on and off. Again, my only wish would be this capability in a more compact, studio friendly package. Otherwise, I can honestly say I found what I've been looking for in tone, capability, and ease of use.

Very Nice!

Just a fun great sounding multi-effect! Bluetooth(Android) connectivity makes this unit a breeze to setup. Model and effects sounds, especially the HD models, are a definite step up from my old POD XT Live. Great for stage use as it is a easy unit to see in darker environments. Works great in front of my Marshall JVM 215C if I just want to add the great effects. Great job Line 6 and thank you Sweetwater!

Awesome! 1 minor quark, but still 5 stars

This pedal is amazing. The presets are awesome and make for a great starting point for tone experimentation. I feel like I'm in my own personal music store trying out a ton of combinations of Amps, Cabs, & FX pedals, all at the flick of a swipe via my iOS. My only criticism is that the switch timing between Banks/Channels is a tad bit too slow and as that transition occurs, there are some muffled synth like tones (very low volume almost like in the far distant background) that occur during the switch. So with that, I have to time any bank/channel switch with a pause in my arrangement. Other than that, this thing is awesome!!!!!!!!!! Great engineering! The research and design clearly shows in this product!

Whether I'm playing at a gig, or jamming in my home studio, the Line 6 Firehawk FX board is a staple in my guitar rig.  I can control the board with my iOS device via Bluetooth, so I never have to bend down to change pedal settings . The app is intuitive, easy to use, and lets me sculpt the exact guitar tone I’m looking for - every time, with ease!
