Next-gen groove workstation with old school sampler appeal

Whether you have a large library of samples or are just getting started with electronic music production, the Korg Electribe Sampler is a powerful creative tool. You can load your own sample sounds or choose from the included samples and loops from Sample Magic, Loopmasters, and Prime Loops. You can slice up samples so they follow tempo changes, apply effects, and even resample while manipulating sound parameters. And you're not limited to your sample collection - the Electribe Sampler also boasts analog modeling sound engines for creating huge synths, basses, and pads.

Hands-on Kaoss-style effects manipulation

A Kaoss-style X/Y pad on the Korg Electribe Sampler replaces the ribbon controller found on previous Electribes, giving you hands-on control over effects parameters. It's cool for filter sweeps, and it also lets you trigger instrument sounds to play scales and arpeggiations. When you're performing live, you'll love the intuitive and creative control this touchpad allows. Best of all, the Electribe Sampler has an internal modulation sequencer that lets you record your hands-on manipulations onto your pattern for even more creative potential.

Create anywhere, then export to Ableton Live

Electronic music producers at Sweetwater love the go-anywhere nature of the Korg Electribe Sampler - it's even battery powered for true portability. But when you're back in your studio, you need an easy way to integrate with the rest of your gear. If you use Ableton Live, you're in luck - the Korg Electribe can export each part within a pattern to a dedicated .wav file and generate an Ableton Live Set (.als) file that puts your pattern directly into Ableton Live.

Sequence any way you want, with 16 velocity-sensitive pads

Whether you like to tap in your own drum grooves or use a step sequencer, the Korg Electribe Sampler has you covered. The 16 velocity-sensitive pads have a great feel to them, and you can use them as a keyboard to play bass lines and melodies with instrument sounds. Each pattern you create can have up to 64 steps for each part, long enough to create patterns that build and pulse instead of simply looping over and over.

Modulation sequencer for amazing live performance potential

The Korg Electribe Sampler's modulation sequencer lets you add excitement to your patterns by recording your hands-on manipulations. There are 24 modulation sequences for each pattern, allowing you to automate filter sweeps, delay swells, pan positions, and much more. Especially if you're performing live, the Electribe Sampler's modulation sequencer lets you add another layer of creativity to your music.

Korg Electribe Sampler Music Production Workstation Features:

Loving it so far

The sound quality and fun factor of this small beat machine is above expectations. I kinda expected a more toyish sound but the samples are high quality. Two thumbs up!

Cool Sampler with Powerful Ableton Integration

I got the Korg Electribe Sampler 2 on a whim a while back. I had never used samples much, opting nearly always for synthesizers. This sampler really blows me away. First off, everything you do can be exported as a complete Ableton session onto the SD card and loaded in the computer. Even if you aren't an Ableton user, this process easily creates individual stereo samples of your parts for use in any DAW. Beyond that there are many excellent built in samples to get creative with alongside your user samples as well as a few analog oscillators to create your synth sounds. Motion control is probably the most expressive element of the sequencer. Modify most knobs with record enabled and the motion of your knob movement is written to the sequence. The record function even turns off after one full pass of the motion. I did find however that occasionally my motion control wasn't recorded fully at the beginning but I was able to always eventually get what I wanted. I loaded some of my own samples and loops onto this as well and got creative in ways that would have taken much more effort and been less fun in a DAW. The main outputs & headphone outs have a bit of a digital whine to them and really make the instrument unusable as a performance piece. However, with exporting sessions as Ableton projects, there is zero of this noise and no noise floor beyond that in any way. The built in effects are good too, elevating your sound with distortion, delay, and modulation effects among others, all of which can be motion controlled. I found myself making loops with motion control of three-bars against standard four-bar loops to create a much heightened variation to my productions. I did this by making four-bar motion controlled loops and then, in Ableton, shortening the loop length to three-bars. The built in scales and chords are extremely inspiring and allow you to quickly execute ideas and try out melodic content that's beyond your standard way of thinking. Korg has really nailed it with this one as long as you are exporting samples onto an SD card.

Fun and versatile instrument with a few quirks..

My overall experience is very positive. I essentially wanted a sample player and sequencer to replace my Ableton rig for certain shows. Works well and is a lot of fun to spend tome with. Sort of feels like it"s own unique instrument with its own workflow. Only downside is that there are no choke groups to assign samples to.
