Retro Drums for the Modern Scene
Vintage flair is alive and well, and Toontrack’s Modern Retro EZX delivers the best of mid-century grooves reimagined to fit within the contemporary scene. This drum expansion pack contains three individual kits, each carefully outfitted, arranged, and miked in such a way that the retro essence is faithfully replicated. All kits, for example, were fitted with calf- and cowskin heads to produce the warm and lush sounds of vintage drums, while a combination of close and side mics of the ribbon and tube variety meticulously captured the rhythms. With samples performed by Christopher Cantillo and engineered by Christopher Berg at the Svenska Grammofonstudion (SGS) in Sweden, Modern Retro EZX provides a wealth of organic, resonant beats that Sweetwater’s producers find work well with pop, soul, R&B, and rock music — or any project that is elevated by tight, pocket-style playing.
Note: This expansion pack requires a separate installation of Toontrack EZdrummer or Superior Drummer. For more information, please contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer.
