The Roland D-05 module can proudly claim one of the most highly acclaimed digital lineages in all of synthesis. Think of a famous song or film score from the late '80s/early '90s, and a Roland D-50 likely played a prominent role somewhere in the arrangement. Its unique character comes from its method of combining sampled attack waveforms with synthesized sustaining waveforms, and here at Sweetwater we've yet to hear anything else that sounds quite like it.
Built-in sequencer and arpeggiator
Even before you hook up your favorite controller, the Roland D-05 module offers a ton of creative potential with its built-in 64-step sequencer and arpeggiator. They're great for exploring the D-05's sound design capabilities with a sequence running, and they're also key to creating some of those animated soundscapes and evolving pads the D-50 was known for.
Authentic interface and true D-50 compatibility
Fans of the original D-50 will feel right at home with the D-05 module, complete with a joystick for on-the-fly sound manipulation. And because the D-05 module is a spot-on re-creation of the original D-50, it can even load D-50 patches. Speaking of patches, the D-05 module includes all of the original patches from the D-50, as well as a wide range of new sounds to explore.
