A Value-packed Compressor with a Big Sound
The Fredenstein Artistic Comp SE is a budget-conscious single-channel FET compressor for your 500 Series rack. There’s nothing economical about this module’s feature set, however. Aside from the usual controls, including Input, Ratio, Release, and Output, you also get a Mix control for parallel compression, along with a sidechain filter, a sidechain input, and stereo linking. The Artistic Comp SE also includes a 3-way Attack selector and a Bypass switch. We’re greatly impressed by the sound quality of the Artistic Comp SE here at Sweetwater; the punchy, detailed sound yielded by Fredenstein’s proprietary Reverse-Mancini FET architecture is truly second to none. A Clip LED and a 12-LED Gain Reduction meter put the perfect finishing touches on the Fredenstein Artistic Comp SE.
