Sonor SQ1
Combining good looks with standout sound, Sonor SQ1 Series drums are built for musicians who demand the utmost in performance. Handcrafted in Bad Berleburg Germany, Sonor SQ1 drums are anything but ordinary. They feature 100% European birch shells, custom mounting hardware, and much more. In fact, every detail (down to snare wires, shell construction, and glue) is cleverly designed and engineered to squeeze out every bit of extra performance. Sonor’s detail-oriented design results in a pure, resonant tone with an ultra-focused attack. The Sonor SQ1 Series has a style all its own. It’s available in four matte finishes inspired by classic automobile colors. So, if you’re looking for a drum kit that stands out from the crowd, the
Sonor SQ1 is an excellent choice. As the legendary basketball coach John Wooden once said, "It’s the little things that are vital. Little things make big things happen." Sonor’s dedication to getting the little things right makes sure that SQ1 drums perform up to their full potential and help you reach new playing heights.
Sonor SQ1 Series
Germans are known for their immense pride, dedication to quality, and creating products that the world can’t get enough of. Just think of the legendary car manufacturers, grocery stores, clothing brands, and pharmaceuticals that we trust every day. Sonor drums are no different. The Sonor SQ1 series features innovative mounting technology that dramatically enhances sustain. Known as Sound Sustainer, this technology integrates rubber insulation within the mount to prevent the hardware from touching the shell directly. This technique enables Sonor SQ1 drums to vibrate longer than other shells.
These drums incorporate even more innovation, though. Sonor SQ1 drum shells use Sonor’s proprietary CLTF (Cross-laminated Tension Free) construction technique to create a rock-solid foundation. Sonor SQ1 drums are so stable that you can cut them in half from the batter to the resonant side and retain their shape. While we certainly don’t recommend that you break in your brand new Sonor drums by cutting them, CLTF certainly lends a new definition to a “cutting snare.”
If you’re after drums with some serious punch, sustain, and resonance, you need to check out the Sonor SQ1. Sonor SQ1 Drums use Sonor’s OSM (Optimum Shell Measurement) construction. These slightly undersized shell diameters allow the drumhead to float freely on the bearing edge. The result is a pure and satisfying tone that you need to hear to believe. There’s no need to worry, though. Even though they’re undersized, Sonor SQ1s still work with standard drumheads.
