Sabian AAX
Sabian AAX
Drummers called for a more modern tone than the AA-series offered, so in 1993 Sabian responded with the AAX series. These hand-crafted, B20 bronze cymbals offer an incredibly bright attack, shimmering sustain, and even performance at all volume levels — making them versatile enough to handle everything from pop to metal. Sabian AAX cymbals also deliver a long sustain, increased projection, and tone. The Sabian AAX series features a larger-peen hammering process that translates to tonal depth and complexity across the board. The Sabian AAX series come in thin, medium, and heavy models as well as multiple-sized profiles offering slight tonal and response differences for drummers of all styles.
Sabian AAX Hi-Hats
The Sabian AAX Thin Hi-Hats feature a smaller, raw bell for a punchy versatile tone that is ideal for mainstream music. A solid foot and thin weight also make these hats perfect for studio sessions. The hammering method yields a subtle, darker tone that is fortified by still-up-front highs. The result is a beautifully complex frequency that players will love.
Sabian AAX Crash
Moving on to the crash line, the 20-inch Sabian AAX Heavy Crash features a larger raw bell that delivers a hefty projection and higher pitch that cuts through and sits nicely in the mix of everything from modern pop to metal. Using a hammer with a larger, rounder peen, the Sabian AAX Heavy Crash has a touch of dark complexity that blends with the high frequency beautifully.
Sabian AAX Ride
For drummers looking for a balanced ride, the 20-inch Sabian AAX Medium Ride is a great cymbal. This ride blends vintage darkness with modern bright projection that is ideal for both stage and studio. A reduced bell size also increases this ride’s speed and enhances tonal purity.
And for drummers wanting to dive into the whole series at once, we offer several Sabian AAX series packs here at Sweetwater! Drummers from metal to pop to worship will find a lot to love in the variety and versatility that the Sabian AAX series offers.
