“In Digital Performer, I continually have to scroll around after zooming in or out to get to the place in the track overviewwhere the cursor was before I zoomed. It’s really a pain when I’m doing extensive editing. Is there a preference for that in DP that I’m missing?
Thanks for the help and keep up the good work!,
A Frustrated Zoomer”
Have faith in MOTU…they’ve addressed this concern. The next update to DP – version 3.0 – does allow you to always have the current cursor location centered in the waveform view after a zoom. Incidentally, MOTU calls this feature “wiper-centered zooming.” Have you heard about Digital Performer 3.0? It’s a doozie. We’ve had the chance to get a look at early versions of DP3 here…the new look is cool, plus there are even more MOTU-esque innovations – even a few of the kind that make you think, “well, that’s so obvious it’s a wonder nobody thought of it sooner.” And they’ve taken the time to consider the user feedback and add in some things that might have been overlooked in previous versions, like wiper-centered zooming.
Digital Performer 3.0 is due very soon…we’ll be sure and let you know when it’s out!
