“Ever since I installed Toast Titanium and Jam 5.0 I have not been able to drag and drop files into either application. Nor can I move files in the playlist with my mouse. Any ideas?”
Upon further investigation it was discovered that this customer also owned N2MP3, a high-quality audio-encoding tool. According to Roxio, the parent company for Toast and Jam, this problem is a result of an extension conflict between the applications. While there is not a “fix” for this, there is a work-around. In OS 9, and previous Mac Operating Systems, you can easily enable and disable extensions from the Extensions Manager. Simply go to your apple menu and scroll down to Control Panels then to Extensions Manager. With Extensions Manager open, you can enable or disable any N2MP3 extensions. You will have to reboot your Mac, but this will allow you to drag and drop files into Toast or Jam and into the play lists. When you’re ready to use N2MP3 again, you will have to enable its extensions and reboot. While this is not the most glamorous solution, it will work.
