Viewing a Long File Name in OS X

Sooner or later, you’ll be working with data that’s being displayed in OS X’s Column View, which means that at some point you will find that it’s hard to track down the exact file you need when there are a number of very similar file names, such as “Lead Guitar Track with Wah Pedal,” followed by “Lead Guitar track with Chorus Pedal.” In Column View, all you may see is two files that look like this: “Lead Guitar… Pedal.” To see the entire file name in Mac OS X, double-click on the little tab at the bottom of the vertical column divider bar. Voila! The column expands far enough to show the file with the longest name.
