Updating the DM-24

“Can I update my Tascam DM-24 without using MIDI?”

There are two ways to upgrade the firmware on the DM-24. One is through replacing the internal EPROM chips and the other is through a MIDI transfer. EPROMs must be installed by a TASCAM service center, such as Sweetwater, while MIDI upgrades can be safely performed by the end-user. If you have a good understanding of Microsoft Widows or Mac OS and a good understanding of MIDI, you should have no problem with this procedure. If these subjects are new to you, we highly recommend that you call the Sweetwater service center to make arrangements for the upgrade.
