Moog has announced a major operating software enhancement for all you lucky Little Phatty Tribute owners. New features include:
- Modulation bus enhancement includes new sources for noise and sample & hold.
- Front-panel control knobs are assignable to any internal or external control destination.
- Auto-Tune holds the Little Phatty to concert pitch or a user selectable setting. Auto-Tune can be enabled automatically at power-up and accurately tunes the instrument in seconds.
- Auto-Calibration — should your Little Phatty ever fall completely out of tune, the auto-calibration function re-calibrates your Phatty without internal adjustments or the need for a service technician.
- A new calibration patch with ideal reference frequencies for the Auto-Calibration function is also the perfect starting place to create your own unique patch.
- Several sound sculpting tools move from Global Settings to a new Advanced Preset menu and are assignable at the individual preset level.
The software is available for download from the Little Phatty Tribute Edition landing page and can be loaded onto the instrument through any MIDI interface.
Audio Ease has announced that version 6.0.6 of its best-selling Altiverb is available for download now in the “Updates” section of the Audio Ease web site. This is a free update for all registered Altiverb 5 and 6 users. There are also some pretty awesome new impulse responses available at the same site.
Wave Arts has updated all plug-ins in the Power Suite to v5.30. Changes include:
- A problem automating VST parameters that involve latency change (playback issues) has been fixed.
- A new thread synchronization mechanism has been implemented so that performance issues (graphics updating, slow responsiveness in particular circumstances) are avoided.
- MultiDynamics latency now properly reported.
- The TrackPlug EQ display correctly reflects bypass state.
- A crash problem with Wave Editor (Mac) has been fixed.
Cakewalk has updated z3ta+ to version 1.5. Main changes include:
- Native Windows Vista Support.
- 64-bit Windows binaries in DXi and VSTi formats.
- Stand-alone Mode for x64 Windows.
- Real-time and off-line independent playback quality selectors.
- New MIDI learn functionality.
- Import MIDI file to arpeggiator function added.
- Arpeggiator engine has been optimized.
