The Synthogy Ivory VST 1.62 Universal Binary update for Mac includes the latest VST plug-in version 1.62 supporting both PowerPC and Intel-based Macs running OS X 10.2 through 10.4. With this release Ivory is now 100% Universal Binary compatible across all the VST, AU, and RTAS formats. This update also features new presets, browsers, sample-accurate rendering, and more. This update is free to all registered Ivory users and is highly recommended for all Mac PowerPC/Intel processor machines running Logic 7.2 and Cubase 4 on OS X 10.4. Library conversion is required for Intel Mac users, so be sure to follow the instructions included in the installer.
A third GForce software instrument, Oddity, has now been updated to include support for Intel-based Macs. This soft synth is a near-perfect model of the hugely popular ARP Odyssey, which was used to great effect by artists like Portishead, Gary Numan, Kraftwerk, and Herbie Hancock. The update is free to users who purchased and registered their instrument after October 1, 2006. For these users, the instrument has automatically been allocated to their accounts at the GForce website. If you purchased your Oddity before that date, you will need to update to the Universal Oddity via the shop at a very reasonable price of $26.00. GForce promises that the Universal Binary versions of their remaining MiniMonsta instrument will be available in a matter of weeks.
For registered Submersible Music DrumCore 2 users, there’s a new version available. According to the company, version 2.5 is even easier to work with, so you’ll be producing killer tracks in no time. If you own DrumCore 2, the upgrade is only $29.99 (US) and is a downloadable upgrade. Keep in mind that the PC version is a manual install, so remember to read the installation instructions.
