If you own Native Instruments percussion sampler BATTERY 3, today is your lucky day. The company has not only released version 3.0.2, which delivers numerous improvements and enhancements, but also offers a free library of add-ons from NI endorsees Gorillaz, Einstuerzende Neubauten and Turntablerocker. The sounds are based on exclusive custom sounds from each artist’s own productions.
The “Dracula Eastwood” kit by Gorillaz producer Curtis Lynch provides drum sounds destined for all kinds of urban grooves. It includes an assortment of over 60 bass drums, snares, toms, and hi-hats that all carry a distinctive vinyl character. Legendary avant garde rockers Einstuerzende Neubauten contributed a comprehensive selection of their famed custom-built scrap-metal percussion instruments, recorded in their own studio exclusively for Native Instruments. Berlin-based dance floor veterans Turntablerocker put together a special selection of drum sounds from their “wildstyle” production library.
All three artist kits are now available as a free download for all registered users of BATTERY 3 at the Native Instruments site. Don’t own BATTERY yet? Check out the demo files with NI’s MP3 Preset Player!
