Updates and Upgrades

There’s a free update available right now for all registered owners of Synthogy’s Ivory virtual grands. Version 1.70 includes Universal Binary AU, RTAS, VST, and standalone support for users that are running Mac OS X Tiger or the new Leopard OS. With this version, Ivory now supports iLok authorization.

The Ivory v1.64 update for Mac OS X Tiger and Windows XP has updates for VST, RTAS, AU, and standalone versions of Ivory and includes important enhancements for OS X 10.2 through 10.4 and Windows XP. All OS X versions are Universal Binary-compliant. This is the update for users running these specific versions of Mac and PC operating systems, as well as those who wish to continue to use the challenge/response unlock code system on OS X 10.4 Tiger.

Cakewalk has just released version 7.0.2, a significant update for SONAR (both Studio and Producer editions). Along with several bugfixes and other issues that have been resolved, Cakewalk has added features that include a new Step Sequencer:

  • Save and load SONAR Step Sequencer pattern files
  • New mouse gestures to edit velocities in the steps pane
  • Change/set default velocity of new steps
  • Step record from MIDI devices
  • Option to audition notes when clicking on steps has been added
  • Preserve patterns when changing step sizes added
  • Auto-fade playback when starting/stopping the transport added
  • Option to automatically enable input monitoring when recording has been added
  • Cakewalk has also released a Control Surface plug-in supporting the Euphonix EuCon protocol, which now makes SONAR compatible with all Euphonix Control Surfaces.
