Synthogy, one of the premier developers of virtual grand pianos, has announced the release of Ivory Grand Pianos version 1.7, which is the latest version of their popular and award-winning virtual grand plug-in. Fully compatible with Apple OS X 10.5 Leopard and 10.4.x Tiger with Universal Binary AU, RTAS, VST, and standalone support, version 1.7 is available as a free download to all registered Ivory owners. Also, the Ivory Italian Grand will now be a complete, free-standing virtual instrument that includes Ivory’s powerful, custom piano engine technology. Synthogy is also planning to preview a new Ivory Upright Piano bundle at Winter NAMM that will run on the same version 1.7 operating system. Finally, by popular demand, all Synthogy products will now support Pace iLok authorization, greatly streamlining the registration process.
Arturia has just announced the immediate availability of version 1.2 of their virtual Prophet V virtual synth. This update includes VST 2.4 support for Cubase 4 compatibility on Mac Intel computers. Apple has just announced iPhone version 1.1.3, a free software update available today via iTunes 7.5 or later that offers significant new features to iPhone owners. After installing the update, iPhone customers will be able to automatically find their location using the redesigned Maps application; send text to multiple people in one message; create Web Clips for their favorite websites; customize their home screen; and watch movies rented from the new iTunes Movie Rentals right on their iPhone.
