E-MU Systems has informed us that, after extensive testing and working closely with Microsoft, they are releasing Windows Vista-compatible applications and drivers for their popular Tracker Pre USB 2.0, 0202 USB 2.0, and 0404 USB 2.0 Digital Audio Interfaces. This means that E-MU Digital Audio Interface products are now compliant with Microsoft’s “Works with Windows” guidelines. The 2.0 USB drivers have been improved for better stability and reliability on both the Windows and Macintosh platforms. Version 2.0 USB software now supports Macintosh OS X 10.5 (Leopard). Steinberg has given its popular Groove Agent an upgrade to version 3.0.2.14. Among the changes included in this new release are:
- [AU] Sample rates other than 44.1kHz now working correctly.
- [DXi] Fixed an issue where new projects created with 3.0.1 wouldn’t reload their settings in the DXi version. DXi projects created using 3.0.1 now open fine in 3.0.2.
- Added separate MIDI start/stop commands for Percussion Agent: note B with velocity 0-63 will stop PA and note B with velocity 64-127 will start PA.
- Fixed a crash that occurred on some system configurations when starting Digital Performer 5.
- Fixed a crash that could occur in Cubase SX3 when automating the GA3 RUN button.
Audio Ease has announced that it has updated its Altiverb convolution reverb package to version 6.1.2. Among the changes included in this new release are:

- [Mac] Updated de-installer.
- [VST] CPU spikes in automation presets are gone.
- [VST] Conforms to VST SDK 2.4.
- Removed double trigger preset sound.
