Apple has just announced the release of the MacBook and MacBook Pro Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0. This update addresses an issue where the first key press might possibly be ignored if the computer has been sitting idle for some time. It also addresses “some other issues,” although Apple is not specific as to what these might be. This update installs an application in the Utilities folder called “Built-in Keyboard Firmware Update.” The updater application will automatically open, after which users should follow the instructions within the application to complete the update. It can also be manually run later by double-clicking the updater in the Utilities folder. This is a free download for registered users.
