iZotope has announced the release of iDrum Version 1.6, which is a Windows XP/Vista-compatible version of its iDrum virtual drum machine software, previously only available for the Mac. The update is free for all registered iDrum customers from iZotope’s Website. iDrum can run as both a standalone native application for Mac OS X (Version 10.4.11 or later, including Universal Binary support) and Windows, and as an RTAS, VST, MAS, or Audio Units plug-in for Pro Tools Version 7, GarageBand, Logic, Ableton Live, SONAR, Cubase, and other workstation software.
Rob Papen has announced that the popular Predator synth has received a pretty significant retooling to version 1.5. Predator retains all its previous features, such as Preset Morphing, Intelligent Preset Variation, MIDI and Synth Controllable FX, Unison Detune, Chord Memory, and an Arpeggiator. New features include:
- A Bank Editor with extensive new features.
- A scroll wheel has been added.
- The right mouse menu has new functions, including direct entry of values.
- Greatly expanded Arpeggiator screen functions, including multiple selections, keyboard entry, and four special tie-modes.
- Three new effects: Cabinet simulator (four types), Multi-distortion (11 types), and Auto-wah filter.
