Two From Focusrite

Focusrite has announced three new products. First up: the OctoPre MkII multi-channel microphone preamp. The OctoPre MkII features eight channels of Focusrite Saffire PRO preamps and built-in 24-bit/96kHz analog-to-digital conversion via ADAT lightpipe. Ten decibel pads are provided on each input, along with LED metering, switchable phantom power, and more.

The Saffire 6 USB is said to be the best-sounding USB interface in its class. It includes two Focusrite preamps, four outputs, headphone out, and more. The Focusrite Plug-in Suite (compressor, reverb, gate, and EQ) for VST and Audio Units is included, along with Ableton Live 7 Lite, Novation Bass Station synth, and over 1GB of royalty-free samples.
