Time to clean the faders on your mixer? Using compressed air does a great job of moving dirt and dust out of faders and pots, but it also tends to throw it back up into the air, causing it infect your other gear, or to just settle back on what you blew it out of. Try incorporating a vacuum cleaner next to the area you are cleaning – it will grab most of the dirt and dust and get it out of the picture entirely. Also, a vacuum works great around knobs, cracks, and grooves – just make sure that you don’t suck any parts off!! And don’t forget to clean those fans and fan filters while you’re at it!
