Here’s an innocuous (and semi-tongue-in-cheek) little factoid guaranteed to help you sound "in the know" when discussing music and musical equipment –
Timbre: pronounced (tam’ bur) A quality of sound that distinguishes one instrument from another.
Timber: pronounced (tim’ bur) Tree by-products used in the building of ships, houses, toothpicks, guitars, etc. This naturally occurring common material is often referred to as "wood."
