Storing Guitars Safely

If you’re like us, you probably have more than one guitar. Maybe more than two…or five…or…well, you get the idea. Storing all those wonderful instruments in the right way will keep them playable for decades. Essentially, the cases should be stood on end so that the headstocks point up. Then store them side-by-side, like suits on a rack. If this is not possible, store them on their sides, with the upper side of the guitar pointing upwards. Never stack them like a deck of cards. This might be okay for a short time, but will eventually cause problems. Also, store any vibrato-equipped guitars with the arms detached. Bigsby vibratos are an exception, as they can be folded back and then are below the highest point of the guitar, which is at the bridge.
