Roland continues to build helpful tools for drummers. We’ve just received the first batch of the PM3, a personal monitoring system optimized for mounting on a drum set. It consists of a floor-mounted subwoofer (complete with castors) and two satellite speakers that can be mounted to the drum hardware via Ultimate Support style attachments. The system is specifically optimized for Roland’s electronic drums, but could be a useful system for any drum set.
The summer NAMM show is quickly approaching. The Sweetwater staff plans to descend on Nashville with several bus loads of gearheads. If you will be there we look forward to seeing you. Steinberg has announced a new virtual synthesizer for the VST environment. The Pro-52 will replace the now discontinued Pro 5. Pro-52 will be available in August. Pro 5 users will be upgraded at that time. The procedure will be to send your Pro 5 CD back to Steinberg to receive the update.
