Cakewalk has announced a maintenance release for SONAR 4 for the Windows platform. The SONAR 4.0.3 maintenance release for both SONAR 4 Producer Edition and SONAR 4 Studio Edition is available as free a download for registered SONAR 4 users
The audio engine has been optimized to withstand heavy CPU loads without drop-outs, so you can playback while copying, moving, nudging, splitting and slip-editing clips; moving events in the Piano Roll view; inserting / deleting effects and much more.
Cakewalk also announced SONAR Home Studio Version 4 and SONAR Home Studio Version 4 XL, the newest, most affordable additions to its product line. Both were designed for musicians looking to take the first step into digital recording. Features include: 64 audio and unlimited MIDI tracks; a 24-bit/192 kHz audio engine; Master Control Toolbar; Track Presets for easy track setup; enhanced loop-based composition tools; and music notation printing.
