One of the great things about Cakewalk SONAR is its CPU efficiency, which enables you to use it even if you don’t have the latest, greatest computer. However, there are some CPU-hungry features that you can disable to conserve more processing power.
One of these is the display of Clip contents. This is the feature that shows you a “picture” of the waveforms in an audio track as you record and edit. Although it’s handy to have, if you’re experiencing erratic recording or playback performance you might try disabling the Clip Contents display. Right-click in the Clips Pane and choose the “View Options” menu item. If the “Display Clip Contents” option is checked, uncheck it. SONAR will modify the Clips Pane to show the display you’ve chosen.
