Solid State Logic’s Duende Mini Arrives!

Pretty much every studio owner, large or small, would love to have the SSL sound. And now they can thanks to the arrival (amazingly fast after its recent introduction at the Winter NAMM show) of Duende Mini! This external plug-in processor lets you add the sound of a great SSL console into your own DAW setup, and comes complete with the EQ and Dynamics Channel Strip plug-in ported from the highly sought-after SSL XL9000k console. Naturally, the Mini is fully compatible with all Duende plug-ins and one simple FireWire cable is all that’s required to insert this 16-channel processor into your VST or AU supported digital workstation. What’s more, it’s fully expandable to 32 channels with the optional expansion pack. The Mini’s low price (compared to the original) and full set of features makes it this year’s “must-have” studio tool. The year is just starting, but it’ll be hard to beat this amazing SSL product!

Also now in stock is SSL’s Pro-Convert, a translation application that’s designed to facilitate the moving of projects between DAW environments. Pro-Convert can handle session files from over 40 different applications such as Pro Tools, Cubase/Nuendo, Vegas, Final Cut Pro, Open TL, and dozens more. Previously you couldn’t collaborate with a musician running Pro Tools because you were using Cubase. Well, with the addition of Pro-Convert, you can take your project into any studio running any of the top 40+ workstations. If you think about this, it’s absolutely mind-blowing. Incompatibility was the biggest roadblock for musicians and engineers that wanted (or needed) to work together, but had a different setup. Now SSL has constructed a veritable superhighway between applications. It’s like being able to move between London and Los Angeles with a few mouse clicks!
