We’ve been getting some questions about the new Sample Cell II+ cards we announced a few days ago (see inSync 1/7/99). The RAM in these cards is soldered directly to the card. There are no more SIMMs in sockets. Functionally and sonically these are the same as regular Sample Cell II cards. The RAM is the only difference. One of the main reasons Digidesign made this change is because of increased difficulty in finding the old 4 MB 30 pin SIMMs that were used.
