I found the NT2000 to be an extremely versatile microphone. I was curious about the variable polar pattern option found on this mic. I wanted to really test the capabilities of that option so I set the mic up in an extremely reflective vocal room to do some vocal tests. The variable sweep was amazing in its ability to tune natural reverb into your recordings. Sweeping the settings between omni and cardiod gave me lots of options in finding the right amount of natural reverb. That option alone makes this mic worth the price. It sounds rich and detailed on vocals but also worked extremely well on acoustic guitar. I only regret not having a large enough space to try it as a room mic on drums. At this price point it would be hard for me to recommend a more versatile “go to” microphone.
