Resetting an iPod

Most iPod errors are minor. First, don’t panic. Then try resetting it. To reset a 4G or 5G iPod or nano, move the Hold switch on and off, then press down the Menu and Select buttons together and hold them down for at least ten seconds or until the Apple logo appears. For older iPods, the procedure is the same, except you’ll be holding down the Play/Pause and Menu buttons. If this doesn’t solve the problem, make sure you’re running the newest system software. On Mac’s connect to the Internet and then go to Software Update under your computer’s Apple menu.
