Quickly Adding Modulators in Kontakt 2

The easiest way to quickly add modulation to a Kontakt 2 instrument is to drag a modulator from the Browser into the Kontakt “virtual rack.” As you drag, you’ll see the white universal “prohibited” icon, but don’t panic, it just means you have not yet reached an appropriate destination. For instance, positioning the modulator over Group Insert FX and you’ll see the icon, because you cannot modulate the Group Insert FX. But drag it over a Volume or Pan knob in the Amplifier section lets you carry out the action, because it’s logical to modulate volume or panning. Once you hit your “target,” the modulator is added, along with a scaling parameter. This indicates how much the modulator will affect the sound, from -100 to +100%. Adjust to taste and you’re all set!
