Ken Parker’s guitars designs have always been unique. But Parker Guitars has never produced an acoustic-electric – until now. The thinking was clear: If they couldn’t do it better than anyone else, why bother? As you’d expect from a company that doesn’t follow any industry trends, this new guitar, dubbed the P8E, has a body shape, cutaway, and sound hole that’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.
The design starts with the finest of tonewoods available from around the world: Canadian cedar, American flame maple, Indonesian mahogany, and African ebony. Parker teamed up with Fishman Transducers to develop a proprietary dual pickup system; the end result of this collaboration is an active pickup system that combines a Fishman Acoustic Matrix under-saddle pickup with a hum-cancelling neck-position magnetic pickup with powerful neodymium magnets. This allows the P8E to produce everything from a rich, full acoustic guitar sound to more traditional electric guitar tones, and everything in between. Both XLR and 1/4″ outputs are provided, which makes it perfect for stage and studio. We can’t wait to get our hands on one.
