New in stock at Sweetwater Sound: Mackie’s latest cool mixer, the 1642VLZPro, is in stock. Basically this is a smaller (than 1604) 16 channel mixer. It has 10 mic amps and four stereo channels and the same great Mackie sound quality we’ve all come to know and love. Retail price $999.
We’ve had a lot of people asking us about Opcode systems lately. It seems that no one is answering the phone or responding to any inquiries. Opcode is still in business, but they are undergoing some significant restructuring and the staff has been significantly trimmed. At this point they don’t have the manpower to do much of anything. Dave Oppenhiem, founder and principle designer is still there so there is hope for the future, but at present all we have are guesses as to how things will ultimately work out.
