So, you thought it could never happen, eh? Well, Jaux (pronounced “Joe”) King set himself a goal and didn’t rest until he’d put together the world’s largest pedalboard! With 142 different pedals in 13 loaded pedalboards and about a truckload of guitar cables, King’s rig easily blows away whoever is currently in second place! Once assembled, the device performed without any glitches or noise problems before a crowd of approximately 300 invited industry professionals.
But achieving a goal this big doesn’t happen without some help, in this case the sponsorship of a number of prominent industry heavyweights, including Seymour Duncan, Visual Sound, and (no surprise) Pedaltrain. “We had a little bit of noise when we first fired it up last night,” admitted King, who is one of the founders of GearTap.com. “But we were able to reconfigure a few things and it all worked great. We had two noise suppressors in the chain and they made all the difference.” Now that he’s set one record, King says he’s already working on breaking his own record. “We have an undisclosed goal in mind. Suffice to say, it’s going to be ridiculously bigger than this year’s board.”
