Native Instruments’ Guitar Rig really struck a chord (ugh, sorry about that) with guitar players – it was an amazing platform for crafting ultimate guitar tones within the computer. Now with Guitar Rig 2, NI has taken the platform to an entirely new level.
The most visible change is the new Rig Kontrol 2 foot controller, which offers six assignable switches and an assignable pedal for controlling any parameters in the software that you wish. Rig Kontrol 2 also incorporates a DI box for connecting your guitar to a mixer or preamp, and has a USB audio interface for connecting directly to your computer/DAW system.
New features in the Guitar Rig 2 software include three new distortions, seven new effects modules, and four new amplifier models, including the Marshall JCM 800, Fender Bassman, Roland Jazz Chorus, and for bass, an Ampeg SVT bass head. Six bass cabinets are included, from a 1×15 to an 8×10. There are also four microphone models optimized for bass recording.
