Guitar Rig 2 offers a lot of bang for the buck!
My first impression of Guitar Rig 2 was actually based on the Rig Kontrol itself. The thing is built like a tank. I lugged it out of the box and examined its capabilities. Inputs, outputs, USB, MIDI – this should be very interesting.
As installation was completed, I found booting up and getting started was quick and painless. All I had to do was plug in my guitar and some headphones and I was instantly gratified with a nice clean tone. The learn feature on the input and output section is very helpful as it allows you to play and set appropriate levels at the same time. The first model I tried was the AC30, which sounded very good especially after messing with mic placement and the cabinet type. Being able to adjust settings like this is a nice touch.
As far as ease of use, I found that it really is as easy as dragging one unit from the left column into the right column. Setting the knobs and buttons on screen to the pedal was as easy as right-click and select! All in all, Guitar Rig 2 offers a lot of bang for the buck especially considering all that’s packed into it. Kudos NI on another phenomenal product.
