  • PreSonus announced the new HP60 six-channel headphone amplifier system which features six ultra low-noise, high-output PreSonus headphone amplifiers. Audio inputs include two stereo main inputs (A and B), as well as external inputs for each channel that allow the user to mix between three stereo audio streams: Mix A, Mix B, and external input (“more me”). PreSonus also demonstrated the new FireStudio LightPipe, a 24-bit/96k, 32-channel ADAT to FireWire recording system for Macintosh and Windows computers. It features jitter-elimination technology for ultra-tight digital synchronization, a 34×4 zero-latency monitor mixer, balanced TRS stereo analog outputs, word clock input/output, MIDI input/output, and headphone output.
  • AKG showed the newest addition to its Perception Series of recording microphones, the Perception 150 professional small-diaphragm condenser microphone. Providing an outstanding price-to-performance ratio, the Perception 150 is the first in the series to be a front-address model, providing yet another high-quality option in recording, overhead miking, and many live and broadcast applications. The all-metal body aids in the rejection of RF interference, freeing the unit to be used along with wireless microphones or other communications equipment.
  • TC Electronic announced the V1 volume and X1 expression pedals, which give players precision control of their guitar effects. Both pedals work flawlessly with TC Electronic’s G-System and visually complement its styling. The V1 and X1 pedals are a road-worthy addition to any G-System, but also work with any standard pedal board that has volume and expression pedal options. Expect these to ship in Summer 2007.
  • Effective immediately, Sony Oxford Plug-ins will now be trading under the new name, Sonnox. In addition to continuing to support and promote the existing range of Oxford Plug-ins (EQ, Dynamics, Limiter, Inflator, Reverb, and Transient Modulator), the new company will be concentrating on new innovations to expand the product line. Sonnox launched a full native lineup of its Oxford plug-ins at Musikmesse. Compatible with Audio Units, VST, and RTAS applications such as Logic, Digital Performer, Cubase, Nuendo, and Pro Tools LE, the new range has been widely anticipated by users of native workstations.
