Q: My soundcard/MIDI device is not recognized by my Mac, can you help?

A: There could be many reasons for this. Quit all applications and then disconnect and reconnect the device, but this time directly to the computer rather than via a USB or FireWire hub. Restart and see if the device shows up when you open Audio MIDI Setup (Mac OS X). Also, be sure you have the latest drivers for the device from the manufacturer’s website. Deinstall your existing drivers and then install the new ones. That should have you up and running.
