The term MIDI Controller refers to any device that sends MIDI Control Change data from the device to the hardware of software sound module. A MIDI controller may take the form of a piano-style keyboard, a MIDI-equipped guitar, a wind controller, trigger pads, etc. MIDI controllers are often equipped with additional objects that send their own MIDI control change information such as modulation and pitch wheels and assignable knobs and sliders.
