Just in time for the holidays we have received the new Marantz CDR500 CD recorder. Marantz has a great reputation with CD recorders because: A) They are really good, and B) Their affiliation with Phillips (co-inventors of the CD) means they have some of the best engineering teams in the world behind them. This has been a highly anticipated piece due to its professional feature set at a semi-pro price. Unfortunately, only those who had the foresight to get orders in early will get theirs by the end of the year. But don’t despair. We have many more on the way that fill those backorders quickly so if you haven’t placed an order yet, do it now.
Channel D has posted a downloadable preview of the 4.0 version of their Mac the Scope software. It provides a professional quality signal analyzer, vector trace oscilloscope and 1/3 octave RTA and includes a spectrogram / sonogram display and a versatile, easy to use, precision waveform and signal generator, plus a ton of other stuff. It’s pretty amazing if you have a need for it.
