Today’s tip provides one solution to the ongoing issue of people wanting to transfer their sample libraries to CD-ROM.
“I have some Syquest cartridges full of Ensoniq samples for ASR-10 and EPS 16 Plus. I would like to transfer the samples to a CD-ROM via a CD burner. I know that I can not transfer from the Syquest SCSI to my PC and burn a CD-ROM from this image because Ensoniq has a proprietary format. I’ve tried a bunch of utility programs and none have helped.”
Sweetwater Service guru (and mover of many mountains over the years), Bruce Hendrix tracked down the following info:
There is a program called Ensoniq Disk Manager by a company called Giebler that is currently beta testing a new feature that will take the Ensoniq formatted disks (hard drives & removables). It will create a CD image in the correct format for the popular CD burning software “Nero” by Ahead (www.ahead.de) to read and burn the disk.
