If you’re the proud owner of a white 13-inch Apple MacBook (lucky you!), you should be aware that the company has acknowledged that a discoloration problem exists with some of these. It seems that the casings of the computer may turn shades of orange along the top of the case after varying degrees of usage. Apple says it will happily repair MacBooks that exhibit the discoloration as long as the computer meets certain requirements. In order to be eligible for the extended warranty repair, your MacBook must have a serial number that falls within the range of 4H617XXXXXXXX to 4H627XXXXXXXX, and then only if the notebook doesn’t respond to approved cleaning solutions. The warranty extension is available to MacBook customers in all of Apple’s major markets, including the United States and Canada. If your MacBook is turning orange, don’t panic. Contact an Apple Care support representative by phone (1-800-800-2775) or bring the computer to a local Apple retail store to arrange for diagnosis or repair.
