Loop recording mode is a powerful tool in Pro Tools for capturing multiple passes at a particular part. It is perfect for documenting different takes of guitar solos or difficult vocal passages or building composite tracks. To enable loop recording in Pro Tools, select the spot where the recording is to take place and Control + Click (Mac) or Right-click (PC) on the Record button. Then record the numerous takes. After you’ve recorded the various passes, use the Selector tool to select the region where the looped recording took place and Command + Click (Mac) or Control + Click (PC) inside the selection to open the Multiple Takes pop-up window to audition and select the take(s) you wish to use.
