Apple’s Logic Pro supports the ReWire software interface from Propellerheads, the people who invented the Reason Virtual Studio. ReWire works with hardware supported by Logic’s native audio engine. Here’s how it works:
Start up Logic Pro first and then start up your ReWire application(s). ReWire will then scan for any and all ReWire-compatible applications or system extensions such as Reason 3.0. Logic will display the audio returns of ReWire connected applications as Audio Objects, so you’re able to insert plug-ins and create sends to busses on these returns, just as you would on a normal audio track. In order to use the returns of ReWire-connected applications, select an Audio Object, then choose the desired ReWire audio return in the Channel pull-down menu of the Audio Object.
